Altho I've never had hiccups for 2 hrs, a hiccup cure that has always worked for me is as follows:

Take any liquid (but in my experience non-iced water works best) and drink tiny little sips and swallow w/o breathing in between; i.e., sip-swallow, sip-swallow, sip-swallow, sip-swallow, sip-swallow... as many as you can w/o breathing in between each sip-swallow. For me, this instantly cures my hiccups... and is the only thing that has worked for me... and every time!

I've been using the same method for years and it has never failed me.

I'm sure I remember hearing the the world record for long term hiccups was something like 2 years or more. Must drive you bonkers

I know exactly what you are experiencing. I have had these episodes for a few months now. Sometimes it lasts from 30 min. Up to 2 hrs. During this time my voice is very soft and breathing is difficult. I try to relax and breathe deeply ...it feels like my lungs are restricted. One episode gave me quite a scare. My blood pressure spiked 185 and was rushed to the hospital. After thorough testing of my heart and lungs, the cardiologist put me on med. For BP.

My neuro. Said that as PD progresses and meds wear off sooner, this often happens. I really feel that one or more of my meds "cause" this prob. But. Very difficult to pinpoint which one(s). Some say that anxiety causes this.
