can a chest infection be associated with parkinsons & also muscular chest spasms
infections: can a chest infection be... - Cure Parkinson's
infections
All I know is my neuro says pwp's should take antibiotics at least sign of infection (uTI, sinuses, chest cold, etc.) Anything that affects muscles the PD grabs and dystonia sets in. OUCH
Good question. Sometimes when I am stressed my chest gets tight. At first I thought it was anxiety. Or a heart attack. But I'm wondering now if it is rigidity in the chest muscles.
Hi Dave
I don't think an infection is necessarily linked to Parkinsons but as Pat says needs prompt attention. However i am finding I have breathing symptoms especially when my meds are low. Like Bibit i think it is probably muscular, could be diaphragm too. I feel like i cant get my breathe, cant breathe deeply enough.
Of course lack of exercise might have something to do with it too but im not saying that too loudly.
Hello Dave,
I have had Pneumonia 3 times since May and Acute Bronchitis. This last time I was sick for 3 weeks, I was taken to the ER twice. I passed out while in a store and I was already sitting down. I am very afraid of it happening again. It scared me to death, I thought I was dying. I was sent to a Pulmonary doctor for a test to see if I have Asthma. I think that it is harder for me to recover because of PD. My immune system is not at it's best. I eat good and lots of fish, chicken, fruits and veggies. No rice or white bread, yet I am low in Vitamin D, B-12, Potassium, so I take supplements. I think PatV is very correct, anything that involves muscles is at risk.
