Prior to diagnosis, I had severe N/V, it did not recur until a few months ago and has been almost continuous since then. You might look in the archives of questions and responses, I had posted the same question.

Some feel it is due to the meds, others part of the disease. PD does affect the atonomic nervous system which controls the digestive process. I have also looked at the possibility of lactose intolerance. I was intolerant as a child and also during pregnancy. I am trying to leave dairy out of my diet and it seemed to help for a the last few days. Last night I had pizza and have had nausea today. There are times when I vomit, but not often.

If you want to look back at the comments when I asked about the nausea, it is under my questions on August 20, 2012.

Do you take your meds with a small amount of food? This should help.

A small snack helps before taking Levadopa, or you can rub your gums with a piece of Crystalized Ginger (sold in Trader Joe stores).

I was told take meds on empty stomach and have a snack or meal then. For nausea eat crystallized ginger also available at health food stores.

Stay away from gluten, dIfficult to digest foods. Eat slowly, be careful. My n/v turned ugly this year & spent weeks in & out of hospital. PD affects voluntary & involuntary movement (such as digestive system). If you are constipated as well, try papaya enzyme after eating. This from my experience. Docs did not seem concerned until could not keep anything down & it was almost too late. Good luck.

Thank you for validating this PD symptom for me. Have suffered this all along and suspected the connection.

I experience nausea every morning when I get up. Sometimes it is so overwhelming, I need to wait an hour or two before taking my meds. This has been going on for the past 2 years=I was diagnosed in 2003.Along with the nausea I started to have other GI problems-constipation and difficulty swallowing.

Hello Babygirl, I have had bouts of nausea forever it seems. There are mornings when as soon as my eyes are open,I feel nausea and it will last for days.I have taken different meds and the only one that helps me is Trimethobenzamide, which is the generic form of Tagin,300mg capsules. My neurologist prescribed it and it helps instantly!! Good luck,I hope this helps. :)
