General rule is "yes". They have to have the opportunity to either exclude it from the cover, or charge extra for cover. If you do not declare it, then the whole policy is void. PD comes under the heading of "material fact" because of the greater possibility of slips and trips. It's not just the PD that bothers them, but also anything that happens because of it (broken legs, etc.)

More Than are good, as is the Post Office.

Good luck

THANKS FOR THE TIPS -

Declare everything because if the insurance company can get away with not paying out they will. Trust not!

I was filling out papers at a bank, the long list of health concerns did not list parkinson or even muscular neverous system problems...........I checked what I could not volunteer the PD, well I was told I had lied on the form?? my pd was only 1 yr old the bank had no way of knowing except from the family community gossip mill. Which is illegal, my point is best to just tell the truth first. Life is not fair that is the reality of PD and paper work.

I agree that you have to declare it because if you ever need medical help, even if it is unrelated to Parkinsons, the Insurance Company will probably not cover the costs. I declare everything and leave it to the company whether they include it or not. They do not always charge you extra for Parkinsons, depends at what Stage you are at.

Yes. Be upfront and honest even if the ins. isn't.They tried to not refund our cruise payment saying I had a preexisiting situation with Parkinson. Well then, people with diabitis, heart problems, etc all have a pre-exisitng issue. No one on the boat could travel, everyone has a pre-exisitng something after age 50. OH well we learned the hard way.Write it all down. WE did get our money back. I think it helped a great deal that my husband is an attorney.
