Is sugar toxic?

There will be a segment on "Is sugar toxic?" tonight on 60 minutes. (CBS, 7pm) I remember seeing posts about some people monitoring their blood sugar and thought this might be interesting.

Very credible report. If I had not already eliminated most of the sugar in my diet, I would have done so after seeing it. No Parkinson's angle.

Zuke, you mentioned no Parkinsons angle but they did mention how sugar targets the pleasure center of the brain and dopamine is released after consuming sugar and that it takes more and more sugar to activate that pleasure center. I wish I knew more about Parkinsons to try and see if that does mean something for Parkinsons patients.

Under the right circumstances pretty much everything is toxic. Take water for example. Apart from the obvious of being able to drown in the stuff, if you drink too much then problems with the kidneys may occur.
