Swelling in legs

My father has been taking amantadine from last 2 months and taking syndopa plus 125 3 times a day from last 7 years. Recently he has been experiencing swelling in his legs ankle and lower leg. The swelling is more in left leg. Could this be due to amantadine or something else

I have the same edema and I don’t take either of those. I think mine is due to muscle tension in my legs.

absolutely can be due to the amantadine. It is unknown side effect. My legs swelled up so could barely tell I had ankles..

I strongly second that recommendation, because this could be due to amantadine or it could be due to something else.

I had leg swelling, don't take amantadie. My family doctor referred me to a cardiologist. After many tests he concluded I was retaining water due to a weak heart. Put me on medication and water pills, swelling went away.

I took Amantadine for three months before side effects kicked in, including swelling. It was foot swelling in my case.

I have swollen ankles and I am sure it is caused by the Mirapex.

Trihexyphenidyl and amantadine generally cause urinary retention, particularly in case of patients with prostatomegaly of any grade. Doctors normally suggest diuretics in such case
