My right hand has constant swelling. I have a pretty constant tremor in this hand. Has anyone else heard of swelling as a symptom in this crazy disease?

swelling in right hand
My hand is puffy rather than really swollen. I also have a tremor in this hand which is sometimes controlled by meds. I have started knitting again and find this helps even though I am really slow. Knitting a poncho - how mad is that?
Lucky for you, Ponchos are back in fashion! ( and there are no pesky armholes to worry about
I agree about ponchos being back in fashion, but will they still be when I have finished it?
Have to work on it as I have a new grandchild due in July and my daughter in law, bless her, has asked me to knit a blanket as I did for her first child. Can't get going till we know what it is, then full steam ahead- or should I say half steam!!

Hi court. I am 38. Dx'd last year. They say have had for a few yrs. But to answer u yes i to for last few yrs have jad the right hand puffiness. I was told prior to dx that it wad arthritis. My neuro is telling me that its not aryhritis but possibly yes part of a pd sympton since it gets better when meds r working.
Hi,I've had my diagnosis för 11 yrs, shake a lot in the right hand and arm but have had no swelling or puffiness. I, too, like Court have taken up knitting again, haven't done it for years but I find if I concentrate on knitting when I have a real bad bout of shakes it seems to calm it down a bit. As I am flying home to Australia in March (mother s 90 yrs oldin March) I thought knitting was a good passtime, BUT ,no, knitting needles are classified some weapon. But if I can find the right size biros or pencils I can knitt with them????!!!!
my pd affects my left leg and lower ab and I get swelling there. Is it the med? I don't know. My hands are stiff and slow. My daughter wants to teach me to knit. Maybe I'll take it up.
What meds are each of you on? Could it be side effect. ? I had swelling from MIRAPEX
I agree with par004 - could definitely be the meds. Swelling in PD is most likely a side effect of a medicaiton you are taking for the disease. Check with your neurologist.
It's my left side that's affected, I have a lot of swelling in lower leg & foot,it's not long since started in my right side, my gp thought it was infection, but after 5 lots of antibiotics,it's still the same.
I just don't know what next?,,,its such a complex illness,,I try not to think what's ahead !!!!
My right hand has a high-speed tremor. It swelled up big-time in October. the swelling went down but the joints stayed swollen and painful. It hurts to cut with a knife or scissors, I can;t make a fist. My primary care doc referred me to an Occupational Therapist, but we don;t know the cause of the symptom.
PD is wearing out its welcome.
I try to go for daily walks. Each time, before long, the right-hand tremor starts followed by swelling and throbbing in that hand. I see mine as a circulation issue in which gravity and the hand motion cause the blood to pool in the hand rather than flowing smoothly back to the heart. If I elevate the hand, such as hooking it over a button at shoulder level, the swelling soon recedes.
I have a similar problem with my right foot, but that was caused by the removal of a major vein in my calf to use for a heart by-pass graft. There again, elevating the foot diminishes the swelling.
