sun light for PD

maybe some forms of SAD light therapy could be helpful if you live where the sun doesn't shine much in the winter
Thanks for sharing this akgirlsrock . I hope you don't mind if I break what I heard down. I have heard this guy before and I think it is worth it to spread some red flags.
So... this sounds silly to my high school brain. At about 8:20 Jack says:
We have Melanin in the Substantia Nigra and we get PD when we lose that Melanin.
and... Melanin turns sunlight into a DC electric current in the brain.
and... The most effective treatment for PD is to drill a hole in your head and run a wire into your brain and deliver electricity to it (I guess he is talking about DBS).
and... When you could just get some sunlight and let the Melanin turn the sunlight into electricity in your brain.
==================
Okay, I used Google and Claude.ai so I think I am straight here:
1: Yes we have Neuromelanin in the brain.
2: Neuromelanin in the brain is not produced by sunlight, so if the problem was losing Neuromelanin, getting sunlight would not fix that.
3: I don't see how Neuromelanin could ever produce DC electricity unless you had that hole in your head drilled, pointed at the sun, letting in sunlight.
4: Comparing DBS, and the signals it sends, to Neuromelanin creating electricity (how?) is.. just... silly.
For the record, I think getting sunshine is great.
Please take this in the fun spirit it is intended. Jack's logic immediately reminded me of a great scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail: youtu.be/X2xlQaimsGg?si=Jic...
Here is an interesting reddit thread on Jack Kruse: reddit.com/r/HubermanLab/co...
thanks. your kind "break down" is the first thing that made me laugh all day, the last hour of which I've spent learning from everybody here. it's bewildering how many people there are on the web monetizing themselves and/or trying to help, however misguidedly. (btw, earlier, finally "got "your username, or at least a third connotation. isn't it weird how you can go your whole life using a word and then suddenly realize what it contains? Cleveland, for example...)
I can’t see the video for some reason but I know for sure that strong sunlight makes my PD worse, while I feel better if it’s raining or at night so I feel better with no sun. Maybe it’s only me but it’s my reality. Stay strong !
that was awesome. Lots of great information. Thank you for sharing.
