Serotonin excess, not dopamine deficiency... - Cure Parkinson's
Serotonin excess, not dopamine deficiency may be the cause of Parkinson’s
Thank you for posting .A few years old and this is the first time that I have run across it
This does not appear to be a scientific research publication.
Study here: thelancet.com/journals/lane...
The actual study does not make the claim of the title of this post. What the study does show is that the A53T mutation, which affects the structure of the alpha synuclein protein and is a known cause of Parkinson's, impacts serotonin metabolism early on. It was "associated with disease burden". The root cause of the serotonin and the dopamine problems are the Lewy bodies formed by defective alpha-synuclein. Well said.
I'm familiar with that blogger, he posts on the ray peat forum where ppl twist all the studies to line up with the forums dogma / the "teachings" of ray peat. One such piece of dogma is about serotonin and estrogen always being terrible, and should be reduced. That blogger in particular makes misleading post titles and then sells supplements which claim to do these things.
Take with a massive grain of salt imo
