Leeches - Has anyone had any experience with Parkinson's?

Here a naturopath describes the therapy:

About leeches

The healing powers of leeches were already known and used in ancient times. Famous doctors such as Galen and Avicenna, later Hufeland, Morawitz, Bottenberg and many others used the small suckers to extract disease-causing body fluids and thus speed up the healing process.

At the beginning of the 19th century, there was a real leech euphoria and thus exaggerations, which then unfairly brought the leech into disrepute.

In recent years, it has been receiving more and more attention. It has found its way into not only naturopathy but also conventional medicine. In clinics in Essen and Berlin, leeches have been used successfully to treat arthritis. Not only did mobility improve, many patients were able to do without painkillers. In trauma surgery, there is less rejection after tissue transplants if leeches are placed near the wound. They are typically used for varicose veins.

The leeches, the official name is HIRUDO medizinalis, are annelid worms up to 8cm long. They stay where they are placed, attach themselves and only fall off when they are full. This takes an average of 1-2 hours. The subsequent gentle bleeding lasts a few hours and is just as important as the leech itself (gentle bloodletting).

Healing occurs through the enormous cocktail of effects in the animals' sputum. There are around 150 substances, of which around 20 have been researched, including the well-known hirudin, which increases the flow properties of the blood and can even dissolve existing clots. Other substances have an anti-inflammatory, cleansing and pain-relieving effect. These properties are not only used to prevent strokes and heart attacks, for example, but also to treat various types of circulatory disorders.

It is successfully used for tinnitus, neuralgia, abscesses, shingles, scar growths, poorly healing wounds, migraines, varicose veins, arthrosis, rhizarthrosis, menopausal symptoms, hypertension, to name just a few.

It is a cost-effective therapy that is gentle on the body.

Leeches cannot be used in cases of physical weakness, haemophilia, or if the animal is taking Marcumar or Pradaxa. ASA can be stopped 3 days beforehand.

I get the animals from a medical leech farm.

After sucking, the animals are full for 1 year.

They are only used once.

I have been using leeches for 35 years and am always impressed by the results. I wouldn't want to be without the little animals anymore.

Leeches have been used in Ayurveda for a long time, but those were fresh caught from the swamp and used. Nowadays these leeches are kept in bottles, and used over and over again for different patients. This is very unhygienic and may do more harm than good.
