"Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive brain stimulation technique that uses magnetic pulses to treat Parkinson's disease (PD):

A device with a stimulation coil is attached to the head and placed over the scalp

The device delivers repeated magnetic pulses to a specific area of the brain

The pulses create secondary electric fields that influence the brain's conductive tissue, or neurons, in the cortex

This stimulation can alter cortical excitability and synaptic plasticity in local brain regions

It can also activate synapses and cells that release neurotransmitters, which help cells communicate with each other"
