I am quite new to this forum so I apologise if you have been over and over it. My question is : What is the most common daily dosage to help with symptoms? Does it vary between individuals? The recommendation on the bottle suggests twice daily.
Mucuna (again): I am quite new to this... - Cure Parkinson's
Mucuna (again)
There's a huge variability in levodopa required from one Parkinson's patient to another, and a huge variability in levodopa concentration from one mucuna preparation to another. So there is no standard dosage. The recommended dosage on the bottle is typically a recommendation for healthy individuals, and that recommendation is wrong, because the proper dosage of levodopa for healthy individuals is... zero.
Hi. I can't help you with mucuna advice but I can suggest how to search this site. At the top of this page, under the Cure Parkinson's logo, you'll see the headings "Home" "Posts" "Members" and "About." Click on "Posts" and when the page opens, look on the right side and you'll find a search box. Entering your key word or words there will allow you to search this site specifically, rather than the whole of HealthUnlocked.
Here's one thread about mucuna I found there; healthunlocked.com/cure-par...
Thankyou for that
We (my wife has PD) have used mucuna for about 3 years now in addition to normal medication. We find it helps smooth the lows between medication. As mucuna as a supplement only contains a variable amount of l-dopa and no benserazide or carbidopa, we, as well as our doctor, prefer this to raising her subscription dosage. It certainly helps.
Consider joining the Facebook group 'Mucuna Pruriens Parkinson' . Your questions do have answers but there is a lot to consider. Hope to see you in the group.
Rather a rude and inaccurate comment. Did you know that the discovery of aspirin stretches back more than 3500 years to when bark from the willow tree was used as a pain reliever and antipyretic. Mucuna can and does make a difference for people with PD. Not all remedies come from pharma.
because you can't patent a plant dear
Personal experience? If so, please don't give "advice."
