What is best form of Cardio Exercise for ... - Cure Parkinson's
What is best form of Cardio Exercise for inactive ( 5 years now) PD guy, age 57?
I like "My Shape" that I use with my Xbox.
Hi sabadad, I am 56 yrs old and work out on a Sole E95 elliptical. Talk about a cardio workout! The elliptical is less stressful on your joints too. When I first started Cardiac Rehab, I could only do 2 minutes on the elliptical; but I didn't give up. I kept increasing my time slowly. I can now do a 20 minute program on the ellptical. It took me a while to get there though.
The important thing is to keep moving and exercise, exercise, exercise!
Best wishes to you,
Cheri
Stationary bike might be the best to start up... less risk of falling Start slow with no resistance with a sustainable pace. Aerobic-cardio- exercise is that which can be done without losing your breath. Make sure you have no risk factors... what's your Doc think?

I have a three wheel bike with a battery. I am 73 yrs old and was diagnosed in 1998. Most people do not know I even have PD. I ride my bike every day and if I do cramp up, I flip the battery on........and the peddles peddle me home....
Biking -stationary or otherwise , has shown impressive results in studies.
The BIG Secret is to find something you'll keep doing .
