UK Neurologist who will prescribe exenatide or lixisenetide for Parkinson's?
ugh it’s so frustrating, right? You might be able to find someone online. Another possibility is a GP—it doesn’t have to be a neurologist. Anyone who is sympathetic to a patient’s right to make their own choices might be willing.
It would help if you were overweight or had high blood sugar 😉
Hi. Dont worry I get your drift. I've already been taking liraglutide for eighteen months. Prescription obtained for 'weight loss'. Looking to save a few quid or try exanatide. Thanks for your reply Amy. Are you taking a glp1?
Are you willing to go private in London?
Yes I take exenatide, but my husband's a Dr.
Also, my GP is incredibly flexible--I suspect she would write for it if he didn't. She knows I take it and orders blood tests for kidney function every few months to keep track. I am not overweight either--I'm actually too thin. She does worry about that and we talk about it.
Whatever doc wrote for the liraglutide might be willing to switch for you. I'd try the new one--the lixisenitide.
You might like to check out Ian Frizzel. He obtained Exenatide, after a lengthy process, from his GP.
He used to post some wonderfully informative and entertaining videos.
Haven't heard from him for a while - hope he's ok.
