Nicotine patches vs gum.

if you’re not aware, I’ve been experimenting with the nicotine patch. I found that it’s too much. I wonder if that why the trial failed. I found a couple pieces of gum, 3-4 a day as needed better. I will soon be off meds. They never really worked that good anyway. Nicotine works just as good if not better. The Suppression of nicotine, I believe is a crime against humanity.

do yourself a favor, go buy some nicotine gum. When you feel the urge to take another c/l, try chewing a piece. You’re gonna feel weird at first, when you chew it releases more nicotine. So what you do is you chew and tell you feel something and then stick it underneath your tongue. Don’t chew it like regular gum. Everyone’s different. You’ll have to experiment.

if you’re wondering about nicotine, go back to my profile and read the previous post I said about it.

Imagine if God gave you a natural, non addictive nutrient that has healing properties. if you were selling drugs, you would want to suppress that information. Think of marijuana. I look at nicotine similar to caffeine/marijuana.

now I understand why the patched failed trials. Quickly it began to be too much. You never smoked, nicotine is 100% not addictive. The smoking delivery system of tobacco plus all the chemicals added to smoking is what makes it addictive.

you literally have nothing to lose. You can buy some gum for $20-$30.

You seem to flip-flop. First you said Nicotine rocks, then you said maybe it is GlyNAC, now you are back to Nicotine again 😆😆😆

It’s not one or the other. It’s both. Glynac doesn’t help symptoms immediately like nicotine. I noticed the most improvement in sleep with GylNAC. Better Sleep leads to better days. I don’t think PD is one specific thing that is helped with one specific treatment, it’s all of it.

Thank you for the clarification 🙏

My goal is to get off meds. This is my way.

1. Live, ignore PD. I only get on these boards to help. If I’m on it too much, I obsess.

2. Wim Hof method is the maybe the most important. I need to stop obsessing about pd. Wim Hof is the way for me. Cold plunge for me, cold showers are too easy. I don’t know if u do step 1 without step 2???

3. Exercise 6 times a week

4. GylNAC. It helps me sleep and proven to reduce depression and ocd. The side effect is fighting pd.

5. Sauna, look into it.

6. Top supplements attached.

7. Nicotine, works as good if not better than c/l

8. Red light / cold laser every day, alternating

Very proactive! What time of day do you take GlyNAC and how much do you take?

I space it out. The largest dose before bed. The study where 60-year-olds were able to reach levels almost the same as 20-year-olds of glutathione was 100mg per kg of each.

I weigh 185 lbs approximately 84 kg times 100 mg = 8.4 grams of each. That was the study dose. I am titrating up. Approximately a gram breakfast lunch and dinner and two grams before bed. I am on about 5 g of each. I sleep like a baby.

Please exercise caution. NAC and Glycine each at 8.4 grams a day seems very excessive.

What if you also add R-ALA to the GLYNAC? Do you think it would help lower the GLYNAC quantity?

Also please share the Glycine and NAC details. Brands? Sources? etc.

What dosage on the gum, and how did you arrive at that dosage? Doctor's suggestion?

I was diagnosed with PD just over a year ago. I was told that exercise is neuroprotective and I have done that. I have been taking nicotine gum for 6 months, starting with 8mg and then 12mg daily beginning 3 months ago. No one advised me on dosage. My doctor just wanted me to consult with a pharmacist so that I would be under the maximum dosage and I am well under that.

Is it working? Well, my symptoms have not progressed. With the 2mg pieces, I felt nothing. With the 4mg pieces, I feel light headed after taking them, which makes me think it is getting to the brain. The gum is not meant to be taken for a long time but this is an off label use and I plan on continuing to take it if I feel it is delaying progression. I am willing to take the risk of addiction.
