Danny Bonaduce ‘doing well’ as he recovers from brain surgery after hydrocephalus diagnosis, wife says foxnews.com/entertainment/d...

"Patients with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) – estimated to be close to 1 million in the U.S. – present with symptoms of gait disorder, urinary incontinence and dementia.

These patients are often misdiagnosed with Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia or even normal aging due to their chronic nature and nonspecific presenting symptoms. Some NPH cases have a history of brain hemorrhage, trauma or brain infection. In some cases, no identifiable cause is found."

hi, glad to hear everything went well Danny. At the age of 11 year I developed migraine head aches. A few years later a tremor in my hands, then memory problem. Joined the British Merchant Navy. Then three years later with a change in my general health diagnosed with hydrocephalus. Surgery completed but with unknown outcome? I was 21 years old. As I write this I am now retired and all things considered I have done remarkably well ! No issues with the shunt. Wishing you all the best stay positive

Pete

Thanks for the information on NPH. I just wrote in this site about the doctor suggested that I might have it after not having clear needs for medication. A very vague transition from needing my pills. I have all exact symptoms NPH BUT, once again holding on to my PD diagnosis How did you find out a clear NPH diagnosis from PD, I had an MRI it look like a slight chance didn’t seem like CONVINCING and I was embarrassed that I was arguing with him like I want more clear reason to change our focus

Is this a question? "How did you find out a clear NPH diagnosis from PD"

I'm sorry if it is, as I don't know how they made the diagnoses.

I am not a doctor, but I think enlarged ventricles in the brain in NPH can be seen on MRI
