Is there anyone with Parkinson’s and also heart failure? I started Madopar 50mg 3 times a day. After two weeks it was increased to 100mg ×3 a day. I have low blood pressure and after taking two tablets of 100mg it made my BP drop so low (70/50) I almost fainted and I had to lie down. I reduced the doze and am back to 50mg x3. I was told to split my heart failure drugs so I'm not taking all at once with the Madopar. Also to drink more water with tablets.Think this has helped.
But I now have this pain at my left side breast which comes on at night and in morning certain ways I move. It is not as bad as it was and hoping its just muscular. I shall get it checked by GP next week. Just wondered if anyone had similar experiences with Madopar especially with low BP. I'm also on Ropinerole 4mg and Rasagiline 1mg.
Also I was put on Atorvastatin 20mg two weeks before Madopar and wondered if this pain is caused by them and not Madopar.
It's annoying the side effects when you are on a lot of meds. I wont tell you all the heart failure drugs I'm on unless asked.

I dont now about heart failure meds but levadopa can affect the heart so it would be wise to have your pd secialist check out what you are taking. I have been through the awful experience of low BpP which I think would be due to all your drugs. Certainly agonists and levadopa lower your BP. It usually happens when you move from sitting to standing and after a meal. Drinking more water helps alot
Thank you for your reply Hikoi . My PD specialist has a list of all my heart failure drugs and still prescribes Levadopa (Madopar). Also my heart failure nurse knows the Parkinson’s drugs I’m on. Neither have said stop taking.
Yes it’s the mixture of drugs that causes LB pressure, water helps and also spacing out my HF drugs rather than taking them all at once. Hopefully things will improve.
