I think back to my journey with PD and the first symptom was the tip of my left pointer finger. It just had a vague sensation at the tip, not numb, not tingling, just a vague kind of pressure. Fast fwd to today and it encompasses my full left pointer finger and my full left thumb. Prior to being diagnosed, I had ortho care to include carpal tunnel surgery on both median and ulnar with no effect cuz it's PD of course. When my C/L is on board the symptoms decrease significantly but never is completely gone and the left finger is the first sign of meds getting low. The sensation I get is like sticking them in an electrical outlet and being shocked. It doesn't necessarily hurt/painful. It's just intense and uncomfortable. Anyone have similar experience and any strategies to reduce? jm

Paresthesia I think
I have that uncomfortable feeling up down my legs, and it does get worse as I'm coming off my meds, it's a reminder to take some more, soon. It might be a some form of neuropathy? It makes my legs feel very weak and it's just terrible feeling in general, but not pain. I also have swollen ankles and legs by the end of the day, so I'm thinking I may have venous insufficiency. Debating about going to a vascular doctor or a vein restoration clinic to see if I can get some help. I took, would like to hear from other people who have been experience something similar to paresthesia.
I have the same symptom. I don’t recall the finger feeling vague. It just started with trouble typing with my left hand. Then over time the same as you described. Not painful …just taut. The forefinger and thumb. I don’t get much relief from the meds with this symptom. However, some days it’s tighter than and stiffer than other days. I have often wondered if others had this symptom as well. Thanks for sharing that.
yeah a real bugger, a trusted professional in our pd world suspects some long term vitamin deficiencies may be the culprit and maybe untreatable generally. good luck wildouiser 10, good to know i'm not alone with this sx. john
when you say "taut" do you also experience that the forefinger and thumb are also cramping but actually cramp? After exercising or using my hands/fingers on a project the intensity increases and my forefinger will involuntarily wiggle back and forth a few times before settling down. If I increase C/L to address this symptom it will overdose me and have me in a highly anxious, irritable and/or tired space. Maybe it's a dystonia. Whatever the case, it's difficult to treat. I'm wondering if botox like they use for the feet or toes may be an option. Thoughts?
