Sharing info - not sure if it is going to help.

calahealth.com/

On the Home Page it states

Meet Cala kIQ™ — the only FDA-cleared, wearable device that delivers effective therapy for action hand tremor in people with essential tremor and Parkinson’s disease.

kIQ, pronounced “kick,” stands for Kinetic [movement] + IQ [smart]

However, when you click on Check Eligibility, it seems that it is not suited for PD patients.

Also - see this below, where it mentions that is approved for PD

I have been in touch with Cala since 2018. They said they cannot prescribe it for Parkinson's and that it is not covered by medicare and is also not covered by insurance. I am not sure how a person would be able to get this and try it. I had hopes this could be helpful but it doesn't look like this is going to happen

this is very helpful. Thank you. at the same time, I must voice my frustration as to how a company can put out press releases, saying one thing which isn’t really true from a patient perspective. I’m sure they get a higher valuation from investors based on the addressable market being expanded to Parkinson’s. But it’s not really true. It also appears they don’t outline the path forward. Not good!

Maybe things have changed since I was in touch with them. It might be worthwhile to email them yourself with any questions you have and see what they say

I have done so, but they have not replied. But I had the same experience that you did. They put out a press release, announcing it was available for Parkinson’s but the website denies you if you have Parkinson’s. Misleading.

so maybe after this article or release came out they have been bombarded with questions - I just read that it cannot be used by someone with DBS

It sounds like the Veteran's Administration approves of this therapy.

Will my VA benefits pay for this?

Some VA facilities are able to purchase the Cala kIQTM System through the local prosthetics department. Ask your Veterans Administration Medical Facility to consider Cala Trio therapy for you with these two steps:

Provide your VA Healthcare Provider with the Doctor Discussion Guide

Ask the Prosthetics Department to email CustomerCare for Ordering Information
