Wearable tech specifically for tremor--any recommendations/opinions?

I'm 59 years old and 7 years post-diagnosis. I'm tremor-dominant, and my other symptoms aren't too bad yet, so up until fairly recently, I've been able to go without meds (mucuna plus carbidopa) most of the time. I prefer not to take meds because I do get some dyskinesia, but my left-hand tremor is becoming a problem when I'm trying to do fine-motor tasks. I'm right-handed, and when I try to do things like chop food, wash my hair, brush my teeth, etc., the fast movements in my right hand intensify the tremor in my left hand so much that everything becomes really difficult.

I'm looking into wearable devices that help with tremor such as the Steadi-3 (affordable) or the GyroGlove (expensive), which are both supposed to provide tremor relief while wearing. I've also considered the Cala kIQ (possibly covered by insurance), but it apparently provides relief for about an hour after wearing it for a 40-minute session, which seems less practical for me. The Emma watch hasn’t shown up yet, and I don’t know if the BeechBand (which isn’t currently available, and I’m in the U.S.) works well for tremor. Does anyone here have any personal experience with any of these devices for tremor?

I don’t have experience yet, but you could add the Cue and the vilim balls to your list of research items.

I've been following Beech Band and see that for those it works for, it works well. Have you followed their new Facebook page? That will give you more insight from new users.

This is just a personal hack, but it works for me. I use an inexpensive vibratory wrist metronome that I got on Amazon, such as musicians and athletes use. It’s quiet but unfortunately not silent, so I mainly use it around the house, and only for about 30 minutes at a time. My situation is also tremor-dominant and it does help me.

Hi Cicerone, could you please share with me the brand you have? Thank you!!

Looks like the brand I got is Wegrower; it was $39.99. I haven’t tried any others though so I can’t really compare. I set it for a single beat at a tempo of 47 or 48. If you try it or something similar, I hope it helps!

Hi again Cicerone, one more question. How often and how long do you use the metronome. Many thanks in advance. I ordered mine but it will take about a couple of weeks to deliver in Mexico.

Thanks for the replies! It seems like there isn't really anyone here who's using the types of devices I'm talking about. I'm surprised. I'm going to check FB groups and see if I can get any feedback there.
