yes, since Biosporin is unavailable.

I take 3 pills a day and aim to take 5 a day next week.

Ideally it should be 1pill per every 10kg.

advice for buying supplements:

1. make sure the label reads: MADE IN THE USA

2. WATCH OUT for this: MADE IN THE USA (tiny print) from globally sourced ingredients

3. only buy (if possible) a bottle labeled with: GMP (good manufacturing process)

despite all of that ... vitamin manufacturers still SCREW US with false labeling

"Bacillus licheniformis is recognized as a human pathogen causing infections, mainly in immunocompromised patients."

"B. licheniformis has been found to be the causative agent of ventriculitis, ophthalmitis, bacteremia, peritonitis, and endocarditis."

Not bacteria per se. Endotoxins from bacteria. I've been researching NP001 sodium chlorite. A P3 clinical trial is ramping up for ALS. What's good for one NDD is good for the others.

Sodium chlorite is a therapy I would use. Sodium Chlorite restores the balance between macrophages that initiate inflammation and those that promote wound healing.

Why this matters. Neuroinflammation is an inflammatory response in the central nervous system involving microglia, astrocytes, and cytokines including chemokines. It's considered an important cause of neurodegerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and ALS.

Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) is an immunogenic particle in the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. It's a major triggering factor for the inflammatory cascade in response to a Gram-negative bacteria infection.

The question, is pathogenesis associated with LPS exposure, especially in the field of neuroinflammation involved in neurodegenerative diseases? I don't know the answer, but targeting neuroinflammation with sodium chlorite looks promising.

Of course older research on this has been buried by the search engines.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ce...

SE

PS: I wish the ALS community was as progressive as this one.

SilentEchoes profile image
SilentEchoes in reply toSilentEchoes

I want to add that the bacteria/endotoxins cause an inflammatory response involved in neuroinflammation. This can only happen with an impaired immune system. The bacteria are opportunistic - they're taking advantage of a favorable environment. This is where terrain theory of disease comes into play. Make the environment hostile to the bacteria.

Neurodegenerative diseases are necessarily neuroimmune diseases.

Supplementing synthetic dopamine only treats the symptom and long term use has the consequence of Lewy Body Dementia. It's best used as an interim therapy while you work on healing an impaired immune system and an injured nervous system.

Focus needs to be on repairing the immune system. This is within our power to do. ALS research has demonstrated T-cell involvement. It would behoove us all to take a broader approach in researching these interconnected neuroimmune neurodegenerative diseases.

My mother lived with PD for 26 years. I've lived with ALS for 9 years (dx in 2019). Most of us had symptoms years before diagnosis.

ALS is a toxic syndrome, so are AD, PD and their variants. Toxins weaken the immune system. Detoxification is an important component of any healing protocol. There is no quick fix, you have to do the work and change your lifestyle. No pill is going to fix this.

------------------------------------

Abstract

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is known as a progressive paralysis disorder characterized by degeneration of upper and lower motor neurons, and has an average survival time of three to five years. Growing evidence has suggested a bidirectional link between gut microbiota and neurodegeneration. Here we aimed to report one female case with ALS, who benefited from washed microbiota transplantation (WMT), an improved fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), through a transendoscopic enteral tube during a 12-month follow-up. Notedly, the accidental scalp trauma the patient suffered later was treated with prescribed antibiotics that caused ALS deterioration. The subsequent rescue WMTs successfully stopped the progression of the disease with a quick improvement. The plateaus and reversals occurred during the whole course of WMT. The stool and blood samples from the first WMT to the last were collected for dynamic microbial and metabolomic analysis. We observed the microbial and metabolomic changing trend consistent with the disease status. This case report for the first time shows the direct clinical evidence on using WMT for treating ALS, indicating that WMT may be the novel treatment strategy for controlling this so-called incurable disease.

I doubt that it's down to one bacterium, more likely that it's down to multiple bacteria in the microboime or fungal infections which indicates that diet is ultra important in fighting PD or any of the neurodegenerative diseases.

kaypeeoh profile image

A early association with PD was constipation. Then an early treatment for PD was Vagus nerve resection Which cycles back to the idea that the root cause of PD is intestinal dysfunction.

LPS: In college there was a guy working on his master's degree. Part of his study was looking at how LPS affected mice. He grew E. Coli then purified LPS . And found LPS was fatal when injected into mice. I was told to reproduce his LPS studies. I followed this recipe for LPS production but was unable to kill mice with it. So I repeated the process a second time. And again was unable to kill mice by injecting the LPS intra-peritoneally. So I didn't get an "A" and missed graduating cum laude. But I got into vet medical school anyway. There I talked with a microbiologist who told me the toxic component in LPS is the lipid. The distillation process I'd been following included an alcohol wash. The alcohol dissolved lipid leaving just poylsaccaride, SO I was injecting polysaccaride and not injecting lipid into the mice. And not killing them.

When I'm reading studies I keep that in mind, that people will falsify data if it suits their purpose.
