I have been using an Apple watch and StrivePD to monitor my tremor and to issue meds reminders. So far so good. No neurologist involvement. So far so good. Anyone else?

Interested in information on how to use this.

Yeah! Could do with an PWP working group.

I have been working independantly on my meds schedule to see if I can improve it. I am using a sustained reduction in the StrivePD daily measure of my tremor as an indicator of success. The constraint is not to worsen my dyskinesia.

Just a heads up for people considering buying an Apple Watch: Apple has been found guilty of stealing a technology used in the watch. They may have to stop selling them on December 26th.

This is an interesting announcement but the article doesn't give the name of the app - it just describes it as the " Apple Watch for Parkinsons app". Searching on the App Store it lists six apps for Parkinsons. Does anyone know which one has been FDA approved?

Per my research, I believe that it is Parky, NeuroRPM and StrivePD. You may want to cross check. I have an iPhone 14 pro, but I am still weighing the pros and cons of buying an Apple watch 😊I hope that the insurance companies subsidize the cost 😅

No, Kevin, unfortunately not. I hope to get one. Lost my job last year after my contract ended. I am struggling to get into a new one and it is very difficult, given my condition. I get to the interview stage and then the minute I start speaking, game over. I talk too fast and I am mistaken for a nervous wreck. I am in IT, so jobs should come easy and they do, but this Parkinson's curse has destroyed my dreams and my livelihood. I have somewhat good news though. I have narrowed down my speech issues to the psychiatric medication that I have been taking, which is Cymbalta /Duloxetine. Doctors are switching me back to Paxil/Paroxetine and speech is slowly Improving. Keeping my fingers crossed.

As for the iPhone, it is almost a freebie from my carrier Verizon in exchange for a contract 😂😅 In fact, they are giving away iPhone 15 pro for completely free in exchange for a contract. This is America after all. As long as you are loyal, they are willing to please. 😊
