Use of Steroid oral tabs for neck and back pain

Please share your experience with this or similar tablet used.

methylprednisolone 4mg dospak 21s

I am having neck and back pain not sure if it is Parkinson or Arthritis.

Should I increase Sinemet or add oral steroid.

What you need is a proper diagnosis. For Parkinson's patients there at least four different possible causes of back and neck pain:

Dystonia

Parkinson's motor impairment - in such cases is usually better during on time and worse during off time

Intervertebral disc troubles - often manifests as referred pain such as sciatica

Facet Joint unhappiness - in the lumbar spine manifests as difficulty straightening up on transitioning from sitting to standing position

Diagnosis first, then consider possible treatments.

Please be very very cautious of adding Prednisolone as it causes a loss of bone density, leading to Osteoporosis. This happened to my brother WP even though he didn't use it over a long time frame. Just a little warning

Hubby had shoulder pain and the doctor prescribed prednisone. After 2 doses it made him hallucinate like crazy…like an acid trip. I found him naked at the neighbors and ambulances and fire trucks outside the house.

A few weeks later he saw an excellent physical therapist, who fixed the problem in 2 sessions!

Be careful what you take!

Is your hubby still pain free?!

How did you both decide to go with that Physical therapist? Were they certified in LSVT BIG Parkinsons training?
