Hi Hanifab 23

I started to get the same problem terrible stiffness and back pain unfortunately I haven't found a solution except that when im on full meds around middle of the day the pain goes away I also do fast walking every other day that helps to loosen me up the only other comfort is to tell you are not alone we know how you suffer because a lot of us share the same way. Try and be positive and actively get involved in finding a cure as you are able

Cheers Sunnysky

Thank you donny-c

I increase my med today it is not helping my midsection is very tight

and painful the tightness moves to my ribs very painful and discomfort

Habitable, I have the mid back tight muscles and pain and I realise now it was probably the first symptom except I had no idea. Have tried deep muscle needling, laser treatments (expensive), Acupuncture, massage, physio therapy ... All without success.

If there is help I'd like to know about it too as it stops me from doing lots including mundane things like emptying the dishwasher. It hurts so bad I can hardly breathe sometimes.

Birdworld so since it is hard to breathe then do you also suffer with it tightening in your chest ? My chest often feels very heavy & tightness then also get muscle spasms in it. Daily have tight feeling in back, right shoulder & chest. So miserable most days can not wear a bra or anything snug fitting. Physical therapy did help some. Walking 2 miles a day helps usually if nothing else but to get my mind off it.

Hi Hanifa. I think we talk to each other on my website. Have you tried doing loosening-up exercises? Is that too painful? I don't know if sinemet does anything for dystonia? Has your doctor said that it does?

Kind regards

John

Good afternoon John,

you look as young as ever in your photograph on the website. I hope you are still taking pictures, as it is a great option for those of us cannot climb mountains. Actually most of us have our own personal Mt. to climb each day when we keep moving. I use a recumbent bike, and a device called the Roman chair, which allows me to bend forward like a pretzel and hang loose.

Met a young lady at the bank the other day from Pretoria!!!

I'm using a speak write program Called Dragon Speak, in which you are talking to the computer and it will print your speech.

I also saw that you made the Amazon website with your book Reversing Parkinson's, congratulations

Hi Monpet. Thanks for your encouragement. My website needs some updating. I am so busy writing emails and answering blogs and reading mountains of information that I do little else than dealing with Pd. In fact, I don't have much of a life outside of Pd. and exercise. But there is nothing wrong with that.

The Amazon copy of my book is out of date and the cost of keeping it up to date is too high for me. I have spoken to the printers again this morning and hope that they will be a little more realistic about charging so much just to change a file.

You mention a recumbent bike. Are you not able to walk? Walking is soooo much better than riding a bike. It produces much more GDNF in the brain, which is why we do the exercise in the 1st place.

Kind regards

John

Dear hanyfab23,

I also suffer from painful unbearable tightness in my muscles along right side and around mid back.

Usually it happens after intense social contacts and eating with friends in public places like restaurants.

I recently found that positive affirmations greatly help to avoid tightness in the muscles to build up and cause pain.

I repeat a few times something like "My muscles getting more relaxed every minute".

Surprisingly it helps- always. Better to start the affirmation straight after I notice that tonus in the muscles is starting to build up, before it gets to the maximum volume.

I guess the part of the explanation why it works is suggestibility which is typical with PD individuals. Still, it works and also it helps to quiet tremor and even my handwriting gets better!

Physical exercises seem to be helping as well.

Magnesium chelate suppose to be helping but it didn't bring me any visible relief neither painkillers, bath or carbs or vine at dinner.

Give a try to affirmations and it might help.

Regards,

Rai

I have the same thing on the left leg, I walk every day and use a cream called Traumeel, a homeopathic thats for inflammation and pain. I get it at my local Sprouts store. It helps me.
