Would like anybody's comments & reactions.
Very lucid presentation.
My research had long indicted that Benfotiamine form of Vitamin B1 is best for my spouse, and that is what I use, to ward off potential neuropathological problems.
I also use Thiamin Mononitrate and have continued to use it as it helps with masking.
Current usage
100 mg Thiamin Mononitrate [Sublingual] (Morning)
300 mg Benfotiamine (Evening)
I do not worry about ‘sweet spot’ dosage for either form.
Edit: The video does not address Magnesium supplementation but it is necessary for the effective utilization of B1.
Marion, my comment in short,
I have been using HDT for years, I have tried almost all forms of thiamine including benfothiamine, allithiamine, mononitrate, hydrocloride, injections.
this video contains some truths:
0) thiamine does what the video says, it's good in all forms and I'd take it even without PD.
1) the b1 thiamine hcl in pills can be of very bad quality and it is at 99% of the brands, but it still works.
2) alcohol and sugars reset b1, but psychotropic substances do it too
3) benfothiamine is a good product but not because it is fat soluble (it is not). Benfothiamine works very well, but thiamine Hcl intramuscular injections, in my opinion really makes a difference.
Daphne Bryan's book “Parkinson's and the B1 therapy” has sold 10,000 copies in one year to date. This cannot happen without results.

my husband has been taking KAL 300mg Benfotamine about a month and he has not complained of shooting pains in his feet for at least 2 weeks. It was daily before. Think I will double the dose now. He also takes magnesium and multi vitamins but only changed when we added this B1
Thanks rather interesting!
Marion I get a lot of info from the online Dr Berg.
The chiropractor? Internal medicine advice from a chiropractor. Uh huh. The guy who on video, interpreting a research article, showed he doesn't know the difference between serum cholesterol and oxidized LDL cholesterol around arteries, thereby completely missing and getting the wrong conclusion. Why am I not surprised? SOP in that case means looking at advice with a good sized helping of salt.
