If anyone has access to Consumer Labs or similar testing data on contaminants in magnesium supplements, can you please check to see if LEF brand's NeuroMag supplement (which is Magtein magnesium threonate) ranks? Also would be interested in ranking/levels of any supplement that contains only Magtein.
The concern stems from magnesium supplements frequently being contaminated with heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and arsenic.

Consumer Labs tested a large number of different magnesium supplements, but not Life Extension brand. All of the ones that they did test got a "pass" on heavy metal contamination. None of the supplements tested contained magnesium threonate.
What are Life Extension's quality control standards?
Life Extension uses only premium quality vitamins and other ingredients. Our dedication to excellence insists that our nutritional supplements meet the highest standards and criteria.
That is why Life Extension insists on purchasing only the highest quality raw materials from all over the world, primarily from leading US, Japanese and European sources. Life Extension goes one step further by using advanced analytical methods, such as high-performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, to ensure our products meet label claims for potency and purity. Life Extension tests its raw materials using US Pharmacopeia and other exacting pharmaceutical assay standards.
Finally, a Certificate of Analysis guaranteeing every one of our products' quality, potency, and purity is kept on file and available. For more information please call our Wellness Team toll-free at 1-800-226-2370.
I just emailed them to ask about the Certificate of Analysis for Neuro-Mag
I received a lengthy email but I am going to try to cut and paste the most pertinent part of it:
Please rest assured that all Life Extension's products, including Neuro-Mag® Magnesium L-Threonate, undergo rigorous testing at multiple stages of the manufacturing process to determine compliance with strict acceptance criteria outlined in our stringent product specifications. Only products that meet this strict set of standards may be released by our Quality Control personnel to be purchased by customers. We ensure our guarantee through stringent monitoring and not relying on verbal promises. All of our raw material vendors undergo an extensive qualification process conducted by our Product Development, QA/QC, and Purchasing departments. The testing procedures include (but are not limited to) chemical identification [using Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry (FTIR), ultra-violet (UV) or high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC)], physical characteristics, potency/strength confirmation, microbial analysis, and other contaminants including heavy metals to verify and approve the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for each material. Complete raw material COAs that meet our specifications are mandatory for every lot of raw material that is received for use in our products. Raw materials are only released for use in our products when they have met Life Extension's specifications. Our raw material qualification process assures that ingredients that are grown around the world meet United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards for heavy metals, pesticides, and residual solvents used during manufacturing.
