Does anyone take Rytary around the clock. My dr told me to play with it to figure out what works best. I know this is an unusual dosage, but to prevent dyskinesia I take one 195 every three hours until eight pm, after that very little sleep until my next dose at 5 am. Now that doesn’t appear to be workgroup as well as it did.

I take Rytary ER one capsule three times a day. I take the first capsule and between 5 and 6 hours later I start getting double vision. I take the second dose and then the third dose around bedtime. The double vison seems to be my only 'OFF' period sign. In my case the double vision is lack of convergence; The eyes stop work together. Each eye sees a different area of the vision field. I first noticed this when jogging. My right eye saw the trail immediately ahead of me while the left eye saw bushes several feet to my left. For years I got in the habit of carrying tape. When the double vision started I'd tape one eye closed and I could continue jogging. Just had to be careful when going up or down steps.

My eyesight is blurry as well. I was blaming my eye exam Dr. Taping one eye shut isn’t an option at w. Maybe a patch?😜

I take Rytary 195 every 3 1/2 hrs.

Can’t say around the clock but someday’s I work long hours, so I’ll take it 5x. I feel a margin of diminishing returns on the later doses. Maybe I’m just exhausted from walking 15,000 steps

I also take Gocovri, to smooth out the “off” transitions. One tablet every evening.

I’m good. Better with exercise.

Be aware that if you take rytary more often than every 5 hours there is a dose stacking effect - the plasma level of levodopa will increase over the course of the day. If what you're doing is working for you by all means stick with it but it is important to be aware of this issue.

Thanks park-bear. I’ll try spreading it out

That will help lowering doses/day

My neurologist suggested I reduce my Rytary from 245 ‘s to 195 due to dyskinesia. It appears the 195’s aren’t working very well. No dyskinesia, but symptoms not under control except if I don’t eat anything. Not sure if I could mix the 195’s and 245’s or what to try next. Maybe have to go back to 245’s. Any thoughts?

I take a lower dose of levodopa at midday because more interferes with my hiking. If you choose to experiment with dosage best to keep track of what you do and the results.
