Have just tested positive for Covid. Have had 4 phizer shots. Doc is suggesting Paxlovid so will begin 5 day regimen tomorrow. Anyone have experience with this Phizer anti viral?

too many boosters, your making Phizer richer, have you heard, the more shots you get will make your body get COVID.

Hey fel3k! Yes, very concerned that is what may be the result! Certainly increasing Phizer’s revenues!

You can go to the University of Liverpool Covid 19 Interactions website and it will have an interactive table to check the medicines you are on with the Paxlovid and any instructions for stopping your meds while taking them (I'm talking all your meds, not just PD). Yes, there can be a rebound of symptoms but it is not due to the paxlovid...it can happen without the Pax as well.

Thanks for that info, Agnes! Will check out the website. Started a course of Paxlovid. After tastes terrible! Yuk!

I took Paxlovid the second time I got covid and had no issues with it. I’m on C/L and Rasagiline. I’m also unvaccinated. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

First time I’ve contracted Covid. Major symptoms feel like a head cold . . . runny nose, slight cough, sneeze . . . not sure that I needed to take it. But, how does one know whether or not symptoms will subside or get dramatically worse so you’re destined for the hospital?

I agree. It is a hard call whether to take it or not. You have to decide quickly which is stressful. I chose to take it because I got pneumonia the first time I had it and was in the hospital for just over a day. Didn’t want to chance that again.

Just about back to “normal”today. Had a mild case. But think Paxlovid did speed the healing .

I was in the hospital with pneumonia. Very sick. Oxygen went down from 94 to 84. They gave me Remdisivir. At night in 8 hours went from 84 to 97!! Possibly saved my life. For me was a great drug. Understand paxlovid results are similar.

Wow! Pearle, you were not in a good place! Glad to hear results with Remdisavir were good!

yup. I was not in good shape. Primary physician recommended Paxlovid But was rushed to hospital so didn’t have time to take Paxlovid. By the way no reaction to C/l from Remdisivir. Was in hospital 3 days. Fantastic drug.

Apparently, for Paxlovid to be most effective one should take it within 4 days of symptom onset. Good thing to have a test kit around. Fortunately, current Covid cases are mild compared to r those when all this stuff first started!
