Vilim Ball

After reading about the research into the vibrating gloves I wondered if there was anything similar available to buy.

I came across the Vilim Ball: vilim.lt/en/hand-tremor-red...

Wondering if anyone has tried it?

Thanks for sharing the information. There is a similar device based on vibration therapy - calatrio.com/ It's FDA approved for treatment of essential tremor. However, you require a prescription.

we bought this one when we started the vibration therapy journey. She didn’t see much impact.

Sorry to hear that. I see that some customer reviews are positive for relief of PD tremor so I might give that one a go. I'm also wondering about getting a vibration plate exercise machine as perhaps it will mimic the bumpy carriage ride experienced by Charcot's patients! Even if it does nothing for my tremor it may have other health benefits anyway: mayoclinic.org/healthy-life....

i purchased the vilim ball through their website using paypal. it took a while to get to me in the us from Lithuania. it ended up costing just under $400 us. i’ve been using it for several months now for my right thumb/forefinger/forearm tremor. it supposedly adjusts to your specific tremor and i do feel it is helping. while holding it, you can definitely feel it shift speeds and frequency. the manufacturer recommends 3 ten minute sessions per day. i don’t know if the above mentioned ball from amazon does the exact same thing, but it is certainly less expensive! overall, i believe it is a welcome addition to my current c/l regimen which certainly makes me feel more ‘normal’, but doesn’t completely resolve my tremor.

Are you still using the vilim ball? Has it reduced your tremors at all?

yes, i still use it & feel it helps.

i feel if i were more consistent, it would be even better. i end up using it about 10 or so times per week instead of the recommended 21 times (3 times daily). i especially use it before social events like going out to dinner. i find it helps calm my tremor in such circumstances.

i have been extremely fortunate in that my C/L dose (along with many supplements) has remained constant at 450mg of l-dopa split into 3 daily doses for the past 2.5 years.

i was diagnosed in 10/2021 & like many on this forum, knew something was ‘amiss’ for years before.

my motto all along has been to ‘try whatever it takes’ provided it’s not potentially dangerous.

hi. Thanks for responding. Sounds like the vilim has been helping you! Great to hear! Do you feel buying the actual Vilim is needed or would any vibrating massage ball work? I’m happy to pay extra money if required but obviously not if I don’t have too!
