Has anyone tried Imbrija?
new rescue nasal spray: Has anyone tried... - Cure Parkinson's
new rescue nasal spray
Imbrija is an inhaled form of Sinemet intended to reverse sudden fluctuations. I tried it but didn’t like how chunky the inhaled particles were and it turned my saliva black which I didn’t really mind but it was definitely weird!
So it is supposed to be for PwP who want quick recovery from off periods. The packaging is impossible to navigate for PwP who have impaired fine motor skills and tons of tremors when off. I never got beyond that!
that’s ridiculous What is wrong with people?
I spoke to someone from the company that makes it. They know the packaging is a problem for many folks with PD, but it degrades when exposed to humidity. That is the best their human engineering folks could do. Not good enough for me, even though my copay for it is reasonable.
I used it a few times early morning before med schedule and it helped to jumpstart my first dose. I also tried it a few times for off periods and it was useful but I found that it wasn't worth the extremely expensive cost and it's not covered by my insurance.
I am in the midst of trying it but seem to cough out most of the dose. I'm going to give it another go until I see my neuro at the end of this month. The packaging is a problem - the foil packets and the inhaler are hard to manipulate when you are going OFF (which is when you use the product). Will report back if my next attempts are successful.
Thanks The replies here

Hello brettnmi - I am happy to report that with some practice I have gotten the hang of taking Inbrija - I only take one dose per day (two inhaled capsules) and it does help me with my mid-morning off. It is not miraculous by any means, but it is a small tool that can get you over a hump and make your day just a little better. It is worth a try!
shoot! Mine probably won’t either. Thanks for letting me know
