Tell me I'm Just Jaded about NMN and NR vs Niacin

So why is NMN and NR seemingly pushed and researched more than Niacin (Nicotinic Acid)?

Because I see successful trials with Niacin: rbd-pd-protocols.blogspot.c...

And the suspicious part of me thinks NMN and NR get researched because they are patent-able.

Anybody have any informed insights on this? I am happy to be wrong.

don’t all forms have their own distinct benefits?

I don't know if they all have their benefits. I have noticed that when science sees something in nature that works, it seems they tweak that thing to make it patent-able and then pursue it. Just my perspective.

so I just saw an article that says that NMN is now banned but a search of several sites shows it available for sale

Why are NMN supplements banned?

The FDA recently stated that NMN would no longer be considered a New Dietary Ingredient (NDI), which sparked several discussions within the pharmaceutical sector. As a cause for withdrawal, the FDA said NMN "has been permitted for research as a novel medication." Therefore, it is no longer legal to market it as a supplement. This decision has not yet gone into effect but is important to be prepared.
