has anyone taking amantadine experienced lLipo atrophy? All of my fat has disappeared, and my buttocks is flaccid. I read that early antiretrovirals could caus Lipo atrophy, and I wonder if amantadine could be doing the same.

Yes I am taking sinemet and amantadine and I have lost all of my body fat. It’s horrible and I look like I’m anorexic. No matter what I eat I just can’t put on any weight .
no
I lost weight and also had hair loss, I am worried eventually I will become bald…..
I’ve been on amantadine for two years. I was about 60 pounds overweight when I started. A year ago, I suddenly 35 pounds without changing diet. Then it stopped and lately it has been ticking up.
I have lost weight from 130 to 115 since on amantadine & sinemet. I think it's more from dyskenesa.
I'm not sure what the mechanism with amantadine would be. There can be more than one process going on in your body, some other form of atrophy or Parkinson's related inactivity to keep your muscle mass and fat deposition up.
Something in your diet or stack could be interfering with your calorie absorption. It's also possible you are deficient in some way vitamins, nutrients, or not enough processing of your calories ( excess calories are deposited as fat regardless I'm one of the calendars come from protein, fats, or carbs).
The calories have to go somewhere, unless you have a slowing metabolism, or you are not extracting them from your food for some other reason. Could have a tapeworm or other parasite.
Another possibility is if you were taking any medications that intentionally reduce your blood sugar for instance if you were using them as a substitute for insulin or if you had hyperglycemia.
Somewhere along the line I read something about certain antiviral drugs. I think I would get you checked out fully. Best guesses some sort of medication effect, or combination of medications.
I've probably been on Amantadine for two plus years. It gives me energy the only negative side effect I'm sure I have is the skin on my legs is very mottled. It is intereesting that you say you are loosing hair. ./i han\vent seen that correlation, but sinc I began consuming LuminAloe I have experienced hair growth. I had been getting a widow's peak, but New hair has grown in. and I hadn't had any hair on my legs for several years and now I am having to shave my legs.
