Association Between Consumption of Ultra-processed Foods and Cognitive Decline
JAMA Neurology Dec. 5, 2022
Findings In a cohort study of 10 775 individuals, higher consumption of ultraprocessed foods was associated with a higher rate of global and executive function decline after a median follow-up of 8 years.
I volunteered at my kids school in the science lab for a while and they had to do an experiment involving McDonald’s cheeseburgers. We had 1 spare and I put it in the fridge in its wrapping. A few weeks later it hadn’t gone mouldy and I thought that was weird so I left it in there. 2 years later and it had dried out but it looked identical to when it was put in. No mould at all!
I’ve heard of other people doing the same and it initially went mouldy where fingers touched it then mould died.
The cold temp of the fridge is meant to prevent food from getting mouldy, so that was expected. Otherwise what's the purpose of the fridge... food preservation of course. The question then is why did you feel weird it hadn't gone mouldy while kept in the fridge?
