i read in a medical book that 3 things helps with constipation 1 fiber 2 water 3 exercise.

2 months ago I added 50min 3x per week of stationary cycling at 85+ rpm. My bm has been soft and regular (3x week) for the last 6 weeks. I plan to keep at all three.

age 60 dx 6 years ago, take 6 C/L per day

I was prescribed Linzess. Constipation has been my biggest concern. I took one capsule at 8AM and three hours later had a ginormous BM. Followed by gallons of loose stool then quarts of diarrhea. I didn't care; The empty feeling was orgasmic. This morning I took another capsule at 8AM. Like yesterday I had a BM but this time no pain involved. Then loose stool followed by diarrhea then the sensation of emptiness. I was warned if problems continue they could prescribe something else. But I think they were thinking about continuous constipation, not diarrhea. I could install a Bidet I suppose. Or try the other medication. Or see if the Linzess comes in smaller doses. Either way this is preferable to the OTC stuff.
