Not sure how this 2018 study missed my radar before, but patient who did not want medications had significant improvement with HBO. Follow up a month later showed improvements persisted for this short-term follow up. He had 2 sessions of 40 minute dives at 2 ATA (atmosphere absolute a day for a month. Pretty impressive!

I did a 3 week daily course of HBO a few years ago as part of my treatment at the Revive Clinic in Denver. I have no idea whether it did me any good. Maybe. I was a mile high at the time. The combination of prescription drugs from my UK doctors, the supplements the Clinic advised and others I have found myself, strenuous physical exercise, brain exercise, proper eating etc etc is keeping me in reasonable condition in defiance of PD. Oxygen I am sure played its part and I would do it again. I just can’t put my finger on any specific improvement it made. It was just part of a package of measures to fight it.

very good to hear! thank you for the post.... please tell us what kind of "brain exercise" you do? (i play computer chess...and the memory game simon... and i juggle)

cryptic crosswords, scrabble against the computer (particular favourite), chess against the computer, other word games, writing lyrics (obviously!) and poetry, sudoku, on-line brain games, apps etc etc. I try anything I come across and if I like it, I exhaust it. I used to juggle but coordination is sufficiently off to interfere. My PT instructor is keen on balance exercises. I find them difficult but essential to dealing with PD. Hope that helps

That's great! I'm of the same spirit with regular mental tasking, regularly outside of my comfort zone to keep it creative.

I utilized a HBOT chamber for 6 weeks, 2 one hr sessions per day and have to say it helped my energy level enough for others to make comments. Trying to determine its duration is difficult seeing as I have plenty of stress in my life: been unemployed since April and deciding whether I should go on disability or look for employment; in order simplify my life we are looking for a smaller home/property so that adds to my stress and stress is one of my biggest triggers of my symptoms. Maybe when things settle down I will do another round of HBOT. All to say that I would recommend it

Best wishes for you. How many atmospheres? Was it expensive? Did insurance cover it? Looking at possibility of buying my own, but home use not over 1.5atm (unless you rig it, which I’m very reluctant to consider because of possible risk..)

1.3-1.5 Atm, not covered by insurance and I reimbursed a friend who used it for his son (a non PD illness). I paid him around $700 to cover the rental fee from the company he was renting it from. A lot of $ I know but is one of the few therapies that yielded noticeable results, that i have used anyway

Hi Fumaniron. Ive been asking this for months. HBOT cures the most stubborn diabetic sores why not give it a try? I see my Neuro Thursday. Im asking him to prescribe HBOT and TASIGNA. I'll let you know.

That sounds promising. Looking at the literature on Dr Efrati, as it was linked above (thanks PDWarrior 1900), it seems there sre different protocols of altering hypoxemia and hyperemia to optimize effects. HBOT seems to be evolving, for sure

In April/May 2022 I had 23 x "HBO" Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy" in Heidelberg. Apart from the fact that it had a positive effect on my mood and my sleep quality improved, I did not notice any changes.

But I plan to repeat the procedure this year. Cost me 23 x 260 Euro= 5.980 Euro, unfortunately my insurance does not pay. Unfortunately, it did not work against my tinitus.
