Hello, my wife's side effect of the right leg moving towards the left has recently got almost unbearable.

Is this a rare PD side effect ?

and if anybody knows of a treatment or any other help , please let us know.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Do patients with Parkinson’s disease get chorea?

In patients who take medications to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, the medications can cause choreic movements that are more commonly referred to as dyskinesias. These movements occur secondary to the anti-parkinsonian medications and are not caused by Parkinson’s disease directly. Medications that are used to treat Parkinson’s disease can sometimes cause other abnormal movements as well, such as dystonia.

İf your wife young , i mean 50 60 i recommend dbs procedure, Best cure.its brain stimulation surgery and % 100 back to normal life . Other than else medication consult your doctor.depend on which medication you're taking.

İf it's stalevo, doctor prescribed for me paramiprox. Which is anti inflammation tablets. Because stalevo aggravates involuntary movement. Therefore they prescribe alternative medicine to reduce side effects

I need more detail. Are you referring to gait impairment? - Difficulty walking.

once or twice a day her right leg moves towards the left making walking (and living !) very difficult so she goes to bed for 1-2-3 hours until the symptom is not so bothersome.
