I have not been sleeping much as recently I have muscle twitches in my neck. These occur every 15-20 seconds, on my left side and lead to a reflexive head or leg spasm. I have also been having these twitches in my left arm for months, leading to sleeping on my left side being very difficult. I have figured out that the middle of the night is the worst time. They never occur on my right side!
Soon after having my first Dopamine in the morning they diminish in number and severity. They are worse when at night, but I also have them during the day. Constant headaches are the result.
They are definite "muscle twitches", my wife can feel them, and not the high frequency, buzzing of "internal tremors". Heat seems to help, but really keeping my Dopamine levels steady is the best.
Anyone else have these, and what helps you reduce or eliminate them?
Thanks.

"Off-time dyskinesia is usually encountered during the night or early morning. Thus, administration of L-DOPA formulations having a longer half-life at night can be an effective way to treat off-time dyskinesia"
"Officially" I'm not dx'd with PD (I've had one neuro appt and another one in a month) ... But I know I have early PD with thousands of internal tremors in my eyes, legs, left side of face, eyelids, chest... although they are very, very mild (a '1' in intensity). Here's what I do .... 1) I have a vibration plate machine. I use it for 10 - 20 minutes daily. 2) I have two massagers like these I bought from Amazom... When I go to sleep i lay on my back with each hand resting on top of the massager and grasping it firmly. Feels GREAT and "drowns" my mild tremors so I don't feel them. 3) Get as much sun as you can, safely. It's highly recommended you get at least 10 minutes daily. I live in a very sunny climate so it's easy to do. You can read-up on the benefits of 'sunlight' on Google. The sun's rays will penetrate your skull and into your mitochondria ... helping to stimulate them.... Hope this helps
I don't know if this is relevant, I think Dr Dean's book "The Magnesium Miracle" and her video she said that muscles twitching can be because lack of magnesium. Have you tried more magnesium and and some calcium?
magnesium helps me. Not sure where you live (I am in Colórado) but bought expensive mg++ at first then found Costco had magnesium, zinc, and calcium all in one horse pill. Big jar. Works. (Both mg++ and Ca++ ate membrane stabilizers), a lot of people are selling magnesium now. I think most people are low on it. It will be the new “vitamin D.”
Swimfast, I don’t know if this would help you or if it’s even the same situation but
I just started getting spasms/cramps at night. But these aren’t the regular old cramps we all are used to. Anyway like I said I don’t know if it’s the same thing but I bought a magnesium supplement that supposed to be three times more effective as they say LOL. It’s MG sport magnesium 60 capsules. It includes vitamin D, vitamin D, B6, and the magnesium . They’re not perfect, but they help. I take one before bed . My dopamine is kaput at night now also.
My regimen is too long to write here.... But if you have a few bucks, get a vibration plate machine about 10 years ago for back problems and i use it daily to help reduce my tremors... I paid $700 brand new... surprisingly ... they've gotten CHEAPER! check this one out on Amazon and best of luck!
