Anyone experiencing palpitations and BP spikes? I’d been fine up until a few weeks ago when I developed constant palpitations throughout the day and night with slightly elevated blood pressure from time to time. I’ve been to the ER and had every test done known to man and have seen my primary doctor but no one can give me an explanation, they just gave me a beta blocker which sometimes helps but not completely. Some days they come on and last anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour and they leave me exhausted. I’ve done tons of research to no avail. Anyone else ever had this? Thanks

Palpitations and BP
I have palps mostly at night...BP is usually 120/ 65 but I have noticed occasional rise for no apparent reason...obviously the brain can affect the heart so a neurodegenerative condition
Have you by any chance been doing a lot of strong diaphragmatic breathing exercises recently? I had an experience that sounds a bit similar that ended with me in Emergency hoping I wasn’t having a heart attack (I wasn’t).I wonder in retrospect if I had really irritated my vagus nerve… I hope you feel much better soon - try and not worry and be gentle with yourself
could cause these symptoms...I also have sleep problems...it sucks
Poor sleep, including abrupt awakenings, can generate a sharp uptick in heart rate. Research has also found that people with sleeping problems are more likely to complain of an irregular heartbeat28. For these reasons, lack of sleep may be tied to heart palpitations.Apr 1, 2022 sleepfoundation.org/sleep-d....
Does carbidopa levodopa cause tachycardia?
The initial administration and titration is recommended to occur under close cardiac monitoring in a facility equipped for intensive cardiac care. Adverse cardiac affects may include palpitation, sinus tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, extrasystole, atrial flutter or fibrillation, or block of AV conduction.
Both thyroid problems and ventricular tachycardia are preceding PD! Hubby had total thyroidectomy, ignorant doctors who couldn't diagnose exactly if the nodules were benign or malignant and although he had every test available for thyroid problems, they decided to take the thyroid out in order to be on the safe side. About a year after his thyroid surgery, he started experiencing tachycardia. He was on meds, but they didn't help. Fortunately, we were sent to Europe (DoD), where he was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation, and was recommended Cardiac Ablation. He had this procedure in 2011 and to this date he is doing great. Shortly after 2011, I now recognized early PD symptoms. I am not sure if his total thyroidectomy caused his heart problems or both problems were caused by PD not diagnosed at that time.
did the tests rule out thyroid problems, electrolyte imbalance, blood sugar issues? webmd.com/heart-disease/gui...
I had that happen and refused to go on meds I stopped all caffeine. BP went down snd palpitations went away
I have had this problem. I have a Cardiologist and after trying many different prescriptions, I found Flecanide worked to resolve my issue. I believe we are all so unique, so what works for me may be different for you. But I am so glad I did not settle on the first 6 drugs prescribed. Many of the drugs had side effects for me that were intolerable and/or did not solve the palpitation and BP problems. I hope you find something that works for you. Cheers
yes. as the autonomic nervous system begins to fail, bp and temp regulation etc also begin to fluctuate. its not uncommon at all. hang tough.
I had heart palpitations and sudden spike of blood pressure when I was on Selegiline. After I stopped taking it, these were gone.
