A ray of hope

Five weeks ago I developed Covid which made my PD symptoms horrid. I haven’t been able to work since.

Today is my 5th day of using this device .

I don’t know if its the treatment, spontaneous recovery or what, but my brain fog, Balance, fatigue and tremor have improved ~ 75%

I’m going to try to go back to work part time, next week! :)

Very Interesting ???

Interesting indeed. Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is an increasingly popular form of neurostimulation that applies a low level electric current through two electrodes to targeted areas of the brain as an alternative to chemical stimulants such as caffeine, sugar, and other performance enhancers.

After the stimulation period, compared with sham tDCS, active tDCS induced a significant decrease in [11C]raclopride binding potential ratio in the striatum, suggesting an increase in extracellular dopamine in a part of the striatum involved in the reward–motivation network.

After the intervention, the patient showed clinically meaningful improvements while the NM-sensitive area in the S Nigra increased by 18.8%.

Can you elaborate on this device vs tremor?

House2 profile image
House2 in reply toba12162001

After Covid, my PD meds completely stopped working, I went from mainly right arm tremor to severe whole body shaking. As I type this, just a minor tremor in my right hand.

The manufacturer explicitly writes this device is not to be used if you have a neurological condition.

This is the response I received after I contacted them.

Liftid Neurostimulation is a recreational tDCS device for focus, attention, alertness, working memory, and productivity.

Since Parkinson’s is considered a medical condition, we cannot recommend our device.

However, there are many published studies that show tDCS as a positive therapeutic for Parkinson’s.

Please consult your doctor for local office facilities that may provide tDCS therapy.

Take care.

What doctor?? :)

This is how they get around the FDA approval process. They claim its non-medical/recreational. They would never state it could treat any symptom/condition.

Hi, I would like to try the device..Is not dangerous, isn't it?

House2 profile image
House2 in reply toHmop

Take the info to your PCP and ask them if there is any reason you can't use it for "recreation use"?

Hi Despe, I received the same answer.

Take the info to your MDS.

Despe in reply toHouse2

Did you take it to your MDS?

House2 profile image
House2 in reply toDespe

Before I purchased this device, I discussed tDC with my MDS, I've been following tDC technology for years (before my PD diagnosis), he told me it doesn't produce any long lasting relief (I'm sure he knew very little if anything about tDC). This particular unit has fixed parameters that are in accordance with the published medical research. Meaning it only has an on/off button.

I had Covid during Christmas and my tremors went crazy. I had monochromal infusion (I probably spelled that wrong) but it did help me recover faster. I did not know about this product and the price isn't crazy, may look into this more seriously! Thanks for sharing!

Could be used by people who have Parkinson’s disease?

What about people who are using already the Red light Coronet therapy? How do the two devices compare?

House2 profile image
House2 in reply toDespe

There are 223 studies of tDC for PD published in the National Library of Medicine only 12 of transcranial laser for PD.

thank you so much for sharing this! May be helpful to my husband who has been sick since early Jan (with I believe a second serving of covid). He is very extremely miserable!

Covid infection did make my husband's PD worse. He says no way. However we both had over holidays and were only mildly ill. Got antibodies tested MD say greater than 10 good. Mine 67 his 443! Which I think means even though he was not feeling very sick his body put up quite a fight. Strange virus.

Use red light coronet - meh.

Will look into this it's less than coronet.

I think Red LED is not the same as true laser, IMHO

House2, how are things going for you with this device? You mentioned brain fog, which is interesting.

How does it feel when u switched on the device? Any feeling on your head/brain?

House2 profile image
House2 in reply toLeslim

It has ramped on and off, meaning it slowly reaches full power. At full power, if I don't focus attention on it, I don't even know it is on. I did get a slight headache a couple of times.
