Our bodies are survival machines. The food that we are hungry for in the moment – the most appealing choice for the current meal – is the product of millions of years of evolution. This sense can be fooled by substances never before encountered during evolutionary history, but that does not apply to anything on your list. If it tastes good, is satisfying and you feel good after eating it, your body is telling you made a good choice.
Astute observers may object that the cultivars on your list are relatively recent inventions of human agriculture. This is true but their chemical constituents arise from plant genes that have been around since forever.
I am taking the liberty of adding your original fulltext because it is relevant:
" The Original Chicken sandwich offered by Burger King with French Fries taste good to me, but both are deep-fried in cheap vegetable oil and severed on a white bun -- do you really think this is good for me??.."
High temperature frying in oil creates compounds not previously seen during evolution that cause cardiovascular disease. See my writing on this topic here:
A Tale Of Two Studies Leads To A Deeper Understanding Of Cardiovascular Disease
Also, white flour, although not containing new compounds, takes the least nutritious carbohydrate portion of the grain and discards the rest, a phenomenon which did not exist during the course of evolution.
So yes these things taste good because evolution did not equip the body to detect these unhealthy substances.
Unhelpful advice. Traditional Chinese medicine strives to BALANCE Yin and Yang as our body is considered to be both. Without one, the other would not exist.
I would not sweat about the list. Eat what makes you feel well and happy.
Looks like a pretty healthy list to me... I would question the advice... But if you really believe in this person try for a month and see how you feel.
