constipation: is dulcolax bisacodyl safe to... - Cure Parkinson's
constipation
yes
My experience: One dose at lunchtime gives a BM by the next morning. Two doses gives diarrhea.
It was what my GI Specialist recommended to me. It's has been a life saver for me in times of need. But what has helped the most is eating a diet higher in fiber. For breakfast, I found that Special K (any variety but I prefer vanilla and almond) or Raisin Bran Crunch with vanilla and almond gives me great relief. But the real magic comes when I eat papaya and or mangoes. It's smooth sailing, I kid you not. I can count the times I been constipated in the last year and if I was, it was due to not drinking enough water or eating less fruits and veggies. Best wishes to you!
I take 3 a night and it helps butstill not enough ( dr recommended)
Hi Sanddancer9,
I have had severe constipation for all my life. I cannot have a bowel movement without help. I take Fleet laxative saline enema twice a week and I have a bowel movement in 5 minutes.
My GI specialist recommended Metamucil daily. With plenty of water and high fiber diet it works well.
Daily intake of psyllium works well for me.
Constipation has troubled me for years, and I've tried a number of vitamins and supplements without success. It's not something I do every day, maybe twice a week, but it's effective. Also, doing regular exercises or walking was recommented to me by doctors. I urged to drink more water and eat more veggies and fruit throughout the day. In my instance, colace capsules worked well. These stool softners were prescribed by my doctor( colace.ca/products/colace-c... ), telling me to take them whenever I'm constipated since they work well for me.
