I guess this is going to sound silly but it's actually a real question. I produce a lesser amount of lower intestinal gas (flatulence, aka "farting") than pretty everybody I know. Is this Parkinsons related? The reason I ask is because people are always talking about the alleged relationship between Parkinsons and abnormal gut bacteria. So I am wondering if having a supposed hostile environment for gut bacteria is the reason for not producing much in the smelly fart department. I can eat beans and sauerkraut and not pass any wind at all. An unusual super power, but Im not bragging, I assure you. Just wondering if I should be concerned. Everybody else in the house is firing em off left and right, but Im not worried about them because my sense of smell is very much diminished as is typical for a PWP, I guess! Does anybody else share this same experience? Or know of any mouse study where they fed mice cabbage and burritos? Thanks, friends!
Not much "gas", should I be concerned or ... - Cure Parkinson's
Not much "gas", should I be concerned or am I just lucky?
With hindsight, one of the first signs of my PD was that my farts stopped smelling. Unfortunately I think that was - I stopped smelling them. PD has it's perks - it's my chore to pick up the dog poo in the garden!
I was diagnosed with PD 3.5 years ago and have had many gastrointestinal issues because of the PD, including large amounts of gas. Sometimes it seems related to what I have eaten and other times, it seems that I get gassy with anything that I eat.
Can't help you Bass, I still have enough to run my car and my wife wants to trade me for you since I told her about your new super power. Also, my mice lay off the Mexican food and prefer turkey and stuffing. Have a nice Thanksgiving everyone...
Eric
Bass,I know that was a serious question, but your post is so funny I couldn't stop laughing. So thank you for the good laugh which I really needed today.
