High dose thiamine?

I’ve been trying to find out what high dose means and I can’t seem to find an answer. Since many of you on this site seem to use it, could someone please tell me how much to take daily. I’ve been taking 100 mg a day for almost a year but I know that’s not enough. Thanks

High dose in terms of PD and the use of thiamine by forum members indicate that the effective dose range of HDT on this forum is anywhere from 25 mg/day up to 4,000 mg/day.

You might give this link a read to get a better idea on dosing and use of B1 for PD :

If "the effective dose range of HDT on this forum is anywhere from 25 mg/day up to 4,000 mg/day", what is a low dose?

Or does the HD in HDT not mean anything?

Given that the the RDA for thiamine is 1.2 mg for men and 1.1 mg for women, all of the doses from 25 mg to 4000 mg could be considered high dose thiamine or HDT. The 25 mg dose is over 20x the RDA for men and that sounds like high dose thiamine.

A low dose could be any dose below the RDA.

High-Dose Thiamine (HDT) therapy, administered at the right custom-corrected dose, improves most symptoms in Parkinson’s Disease, as well as fatigue and disorder-specific symptoms in a number of other neurodegenerative (and related auto-immune and/or inflammatory) disorders.

Hello, please… Read

Basic (B) - (1) 1nstructions. B1 in the form of thiamine hcl is required for HDT (high dose thiamine) therapy.

Regarding thiamine hcl, it is not a cure. It is at its best supporting carbidopa levodopa. Solgar tablets are choke hazard. Find capsules as they are easy swallow.

Doctor Costantini directed:

Early or mild symptoms - 2 grams daily.

Moderate symptoms - 4 grams daily.

Severe symptoms - 6 grams daily.

Divide into two equal doses. Take first dose at breakfast. Take second before lunch.

I

Before starting with full dose take a small amount and watch for any allergic reaction.

This works for me:

My thiamine hcl dose, four grams a day. I have lowered my carbidopa levodopa to 800mg total a day.

I am trying to get to 300mg total day.

I was diagnosed, 2012. Four years ago I was Stage 3 - 4, going down hill fast. FOUR years ago I was "blessed" by adjusting my treatment to include thiamine hcl of which was supported by a neurologist. It is very rare for any doctor to prescribe a vitamin. Presently Stage 1--2.

I need to buy thiamine capsules asap and just want to know what a good brand is. Can't afford to join consumerlab.com to research it. Thanks. Ok I found a list of thiamine and benfotiamine suppliers at the end of Dr. Constantini's site. I could not find any information on which is the better to use...?
