I’ve been buying this for my dog for quite a while for his joints and the webpage says it is for humans too so I thought I would try it.

I have been taking it at 3 per day for a while and I swear it is helping. So if you have sore achy body it might be worth a try. (The price is in NZ dollars.)

EFAC (Active Again) - Natural oil capsules for Humans or Dogs and Cats

Overview:

EFAC now comes as Active Again for Humans or Dogs & Cats (same product)

For a number of years we have been selling in NZ, a Natural Joint HealthProduct called EFAC which promotes flexibility and mobility. Suitable for people and their pets -the results from our customers and the Vet at Henderson Vet Auckland have been impressive! EFAC by Hope Science USA is a cellular lubricant so unique that it was awarded a patent for its unprecedented results and properties. It is a patented blend of natural food oils that possess potent lubricating properties. Supported by research and science, it lubricates cell membranes throughout the body so you and your pets can move easier. It also affects numerous conditions, even the “process of aging” is greatly impacted by cell membrane lubrication.

EFAC - Active Again is comprised of innovative, targeted & proprietary cetylated oils. Soy Free and Gluten Free. Other ingredients include Rice Bran Oil, Gelatin, Glycerin, Purified Water, Carob, Sunflower Lecithin and mixed Tocopherols.

No other natural product has shown such dramatic improvements.

Testimonial: “My husband and I have had retrievers for many years. Both of us are quite aware of the presence of arthritis at these large active dogs age. Currently, we have 2 dogs - Oso, the older male, has been slowing down over the past year and the colder weather really hampered his ability to climb stairs. Obviously the glucosamine included in his senior diet was not sufficient.Within 2 weeks, he no longer had trouble climbing stairs and in fact, now vaults off the couch when given the chance to go play outside. He has had no adverse side effects. I recommend EFAC highly and will be offering it where appropriate for client use.” Karen Purcell”

Here is a study showing topical application effective for knee osteoarthritis:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

There are also safety studies of internal consumption in animal models that do not find any adverse effects.

Thanks. I bought it for the Labrador as they can have joint problems so I thought I’d start him on a low dose before he has troubles. Then I thought why don’t I try it. I think it helps.

rxlist.com/cetylated_fatty_... fatty acids are also used for diseases in which the body attacks itself (autoimmune diseases) including Sjogren's syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and multiple sclerosis (MS).”

eurekalert.org/news-release...

“A study published in Arthritis Care & Research has uncovered an elevated risk of Parkinson's disease in individuals with osteoarthritis.

The retrospective study using Taiwan's Longitudinal Health Insurance Database 2005 included 33,360 patients who were 50-64 years old and had osteoarthritis in 2002-2005. A comparison group consisted of 33,360 age- and sex- matched individuals without osteoarthritis. The osteoarthritis group had a 41% higher risk of developing Parkinson's disease, after adjustments. Patients with knee or hip osteoarthritis appeared to have a higher risk of Parkinson's disease than patients with non-knee and non-hip osteoarthritis or with uncategorized osteoarthritis.

Although the mechanisms behind a potential link between osteoarthritis and Parkinson's disease are unknown, both conditions involve inflammation.

"Coexisting osteoarthritis and Parkinson's disease can additively increase the risk of falling. Moreover, osteoarthritis-related mobility impairments may mask early motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease," said senior author Shin-Liang Pan, MD, PhD, of National Taiwan University. "Health professionals need to be alert to the potential link between these two diseases."

For osteoarthritis: 350 mg of a specific blend of cetylated fatty acids (Celadrin, Proprietary Nutritionals, Inc.) plus 50 mg of soy lecithin, and 75 mg of fish oil taken 6 times daily.

So about 2 grams spread out over the day. Interesting.

Here is a PD doctor in Italy that has a paper on cetylated fatty acids. Dr. Marco Vinceti. I find that interesting.

In Vitro Effects of Cetylated Fatty Acids Mixture from Celadrin on Chondrogenesis and Inflammation with Impact on Osteoarthritis 2020 ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

The cetylated fatty acids mixture from Celadrin reduces inflammation in vitro by significantly decreasing the expression of IL-6, MCP-1, and TNF in stimulated RAW264.7 mouse macrophage cells. These compounds facilitate the chondrogenic differentiation process of human adipose-derived stem cells by stimulating the expression of chondrogenic markers under chondrogenic induction conditions.

Seems useful if it can reduce inflammation for more than arthritis.

I have been taking hemp oil for several years for CBD benefit s for my arthritic knees, after the surgeon told me that in 18 months I would need total replacement of both knees. If I miss a day I feel it. I also gave it to my 14 yr old Shepherd for over 1.5 yrs ... You would not believe the effect in under 15 Minutes! From moping about to bucking like a horse and running circles.

That’s interesting. How much did you give your dog? Capsules or by the spoonful?
