Finally! A European team specializing in neurodegenerative diseases has published preclinical and clinical studies of a food supplement of plant origin, marketed under the name AtremoPlus. The exceptional results of the studies show that the product significantly increases the level of dopamine and norepinephrine in the body and at the same time improves the symptoms of the disease. No unwanted side effects have been observed. Studies also reveal a strong neuroprotective potential that could help in the area of prevention and slowing the progression of the disease. The inhibitors naturally present in the food supplement help to regulate and slow down the transformation of L-dopa, and thus allows it to cross the blood-brain barrier.

A natural herbal solution with no side effects

Since 2010, a European scientific team of neurodegenerative diseases has worked on the development of a product of plant origin to provide a concrete and natural solution in the fight against Parkinson's disease. The objective was also to include in this development a real strategy of prevention and action on slowing the progression of the disease, largely absent to date in the care of patients.

The scientific team succeeded in providing a dietary supplement rich in natural L-dopa which is very well tolerated. According to nutritional analyzes (* see list below) show that the slow complex extraction of the main active ingredients allows the preservation of L-Dopa (21 mg / g) and Vit E at the recommended daily dose. In addition, the dietary supplement also contains a multitude of extremely beneficial trace bio-functional elements, such as vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids, proteins, essential amino acids, minerals and polyphenols. . This set of natural components has shown in studies excellent results and a high potential both for the significant reduction of the symptoms of the disease and for the neuroprotective part to slow the progression of the disease. Given that the product is very well tolerated, a real prevention strategy would also be possible.

Clinical study and possible fields of application of the food supplement

For the clinical study, participants were divided into two groups: on the one hand, people with Parkinson's on long-term treatment with conventional antiparkinsonian drugs; on the other hand, people who also have Parkinson's but who had never been treated with antiparkinson drugs.

The clinical study thus revealed 5 major benefits of the food supplement:

The dramatic increase in dopamine levels in the body due to its natural concentration of L-DOPA (20mg / g).

The duration of the effects could be measured up to 12 hours after taking.

Tolerance of the product: 100% of the participants in the clinical study tolerated the product well without any undesirable side effects observed.

The significant increase in norepinephrine which plays an essential role in regulating mood.

The possible reduction in doses of antiparkinsonian drugs.

Taking 5g of the product increases dopamine levels by at least 200% within 30-60 minutes, with a duration of action of up to 12 hours, at the same time improving the cardinal symptoms of Parkinson's disease: bradykinesia (sluggishness movements), tremors and hypertonia (rigidity).

In view of the positive results, the authors of the clinical study suggest that this food supplement of natural origin could be a solution, for:

Reduce the “Wearing off” or “end-of-dose deterioration” phenomenon (observed mainly in the intermediate and advanced phases);

Reduce dyskinesias (intermediate and advanced phases);

Help potentiate the therapeutic effect of conventional antiparkinsonian drugs and delay the phenomenon of long-term "lack of response" through the neuroprotective aspect (from the initial phase to the advanced phase of the disease);

At the same time, reduce the short and long-lasting negative side effects of conventional antiparkinsonian drugs (from the initial phase to the advanced phase of the disease).

The study reveals that the co-administration of the food supplement with antiparkinsonian drugs reduces the doses of conventional treatments by 25-50%, with beneficial clinical effects and a reduction in the unwanted side effects of these drugs.

Thus, this food supplement would be useful in all phases of Parkinson's disease (initial, intermediate and advanced). Patients who have significant adverse reactions to trauma from the start conventional antiparkinsonian drugs could fully benefit, as well as those that tolerate natural products well in general.

Selective protection of dopaminergic neurons

Preclinical studies have shown a strong potential for the protection of dopaminergic neurons which thus promote the slowing of the progression of the disease. This characteristic, combined with its excellent tolerance without side effects, suggests that the product has an excellent profile also for its use in the prevention of the disease. It has been shown that the active ingredients contained in the product make it possible to selectively protect dopaminergic neurons. This product characteristic could indeed be a key whatever the phase of the disease. It would preserve the remaining dopaminergic neurons and therefore slow down the degeneration process.

The food supplement Atremoplus has already been placed on the market

The conclusions of these scientific studies suggest that the dietary supplement already for sale on the internet could significantly improve the quality of life of patients, knowing that they need solutions and results for now given their often dramatic situation.

Could it be nature once again that would open up complementary paths for us by offering us major advances for a better quality of life for the people concerned?

In any case, it is very interesting to see the research looking again at the development of natural products, even if the components of nature are not patentable and the potential benefits are minor compared to synthetic molecules ...

Maintaining the effects of the effects of dietary supplements over time

To produce dopamine, the body needs its precursor, L-dopa. If the body can no longer produce enough dopamine due to too many of its destroyed dopaminergic neurons (see Parkinson's pathogenesis below *), then the standard treatment is the prescription of drugs consisting of L-Dopa. synthetic. This treatment works very well for the majority of patients during the initial phase of the disease which lasts on average 3-5 years. After this phase, the drugs often have less and less effect, which in patients causes so-called "off" and "freezing" phases which are characterized by an involuntary blockage of movements. It is frequently observed that side effects increase with successive increases in drug doses. Another very debilitating symptom that appears regularly at this later stage of the disease is dyskinesias, characterized by involuntary movements.

The food supplement, with its neuro-protective qualities, could indeed help patients no longer be forced to witness this more or less rapid decline helplessly, and to fight against poor morale with new perspectives. It would be essential for people with PD to help them mobilize and fight the disease because dopamine also plays a crucial role in motivation. The lack of dopamine can cause the sadness and depression seen in nearly 30% of patients with Parkinson's disease and the dietary supplement could effectively combat this phenomenon.

This is a complete ripoff. It costs €75 for 75g, with 5g equivalent to 100mg of levodopa. So a day’s worth at the lowest dose of 3x per day costs €15. At the price the UK NHS pays for my Madopar, the same amount costs £0.30.

It also doesn’t contain carbidopa or benzserazide.

If you buy four bottles at a time the price drops to €55 each. There are many positive comments on their website. I have been taking it for a year along with Madopar and will continue possibly in a reduced dosage as I feel it helps. The price is important but does it do the job is equally important.
