Can anyone help with finding an intergrative Dr to oversee vitamin B1 ? Has anyone else tried it?

Most of us have worked out for ourselves which dose does the most for us. Start on 500mg and give it time to work before you dismiss that level and start on a higher dose. It took several months on the same dose before I realised I was on to a winner. Keep a diary. Note current symptoms and monitor for changes. Watch out for increased anxiety which for many of us is a sign of overdosing. Good luck.

HCL thiamine works far better if taken with thiamin tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide (TTFD) My daughter has 100mg of thiamine and 100mg of HCL with every meal. She started with 50mg TTFD and slowly worked her way up. The TTFD is an active form that when taken with HCL ‘activates it’. HCL being cheaper than just only having TTFD.We use allithiamine TTFD.

I believe both will be better absorbed if taken away from meal times since they are water soluble. ?

Can you explain the differences that your daughter has noted with thiamine HCI and then the improvements noted with the addition of TTFD? I'm sure there are many forum members who are currently using or considering High Dose Thiamine (HDT) who would be very interested in the differences between the two as well as what the addition of TTFD might do for them over HDT alone Thank you!

With TTFD you need far less thiamine as it is active. When taking HCL alone my daughter needs very large quantities, without great improvement. She is currently seeing if it makes a difference as to how much TTFD she needs with the HCL eg. Can you can just add 50mg of TTFD with more HCL to get the same effect. The HCL is very cheap and easy to source, her Allithiamine (TTFD) is $75 for 250 capsules and we have to order it from iherb
