“My hwp general doctor agrees that B1 necessary. Questioned how do injections work twice a week if B1 doesn’t stay in your body ? We couldn’t answer him. Anybody know science of it? Thank you !”

I ask the group help with this question: B1 oral vs injections
Just a guess; it's water-soluble so it gets used and excreted in urine. But never builds up. Blood tests say my B1 is 7 (8-30) so I take 100mg of B1 sublingual daily.

A comparison between Intramuscular and pills:
"Ten healthy men were given 500 mg thiamine i.m. once a day (Group 1) and ten were given 250 mg p.o. every 12 h (Group 2). The times to reach steady state (7 and 5.6 days for Groups 1 and 2, respectively) were not different (P>0.05). The mean elimination half-life was 1.8 days. The mean minimum steady-state concentration after the oral regimen (23 μg·l−1) was 78% of that after the intramuscular regime (29 μg·l−1).
Once you are well established on B1, it takes several months for the benefits to disappear if you stop. So this must mean that there is a residual effect? The injection form is more immediate but both work.
I take 100mg of sublingual B1 every OTHER day but notice no difference in my symptoms the day I don’t take it. I presumed that the benefits B1 stimulates, like making that enzyme work (that I’ve read about but don’t fully understand), that that continues without daily stimulation.
I would suggest you contact the Michael J Fox Foundation, the Davis Phinney Fondation, and the National Parkinson's Fondation and ask about research on benefit or not, of B1. I've heard and read mixed theories.

Hi Roy, the only thing I would make sure is that the injectable thiamine HCL does not have aluminum in it. When I started I decided against injectable since I could not find any that does not contain aluminum. I had hair analysis done in the beginning and I had a very high score of aluminum. Mary
