Once again I am asking a question for my blind, PD friend.
When he started using B1 injections the supplier in Germany sent him 100mg in one millilitre which he took twice a week. Then they started sending him 50mg in 2 millilitres and he doesn’t know whether that means 50 mg in each of the 2 mls or 50 mg in total. Does anyone else have experience of this change. He was doing well on the 2- weekly dose of 100mg and wanted to continue with it. Unfortunately I don’t live near him so can’t inspect the vial which is all in German anyhow. Does anyone buy their B1 injections from Germany in 50mg vials and does that mean only 50mg in total or 50mg in each of the 2 mls? I hope I’ve explained this correctly! Talk about blind leading the blind!

hi Dap, I use these from Germany, it is a 2 millilitre vial for a total of 100mg of dissolved B1 per vial. In fact it is not very clear at first glance, the side labe clarifies everything. The blind always leading the blind in Parkinson's Disease, the important thing is to be aware.
Label translation:”Solution for injection for intramuscular or intravenous use Each ampoule with 2 ml solution for injection contains 100 mg thiamine chloride hydrochloride (vitamina B1,). Excipient: water for injections”
That would be very nice, but I'm afraid that's not the case. Surely the part of b1 absorbed through the oral mucosa does not pass through the intestine as it does for injections.
