The correlation of the health to those with Parkinson’s Disease and the level of care they receive is almost inconceivable. This fact, yes fact, has only recently been recognized by some Parkinson’s foundations and even fewer Parkinson’s specialists. The medical world, as a whole, knows so little about Parkinson’s or the quirks of the disease that often send those with Parkinson’s spiraling down a rabbit hole. Sadly, the journey back out of such holes is long. For many, the attempt is filled with failure.

Parkinson’s CARE Awareness is a cause needed within the Parkinson’s community around the world. Those who CARE for those with Parkinson’s need more than the typical Parkinson’s information. They need education and support in order for them to help manage the disease and its impact, the collateral damage. These carers are often the ones who have the information and knowledge needed by the medical and pharmaceutical world.

PBH-ORG.COM’s mission, to “provide those with Parkinson’s a higher level of care”, is designed to help their care person, family, friends and community through emotional support, education and programs. Our research has shown, educated, and supported carers profoundly impact the quality of life for their husband or loved one with Parkinson's. The simple act of removing even a small part of the stress in the caregivers life can create a more positive and healthier surrounding for the one they care for.

I do agree with this! I’ve found out, through experience, that, at times, I am spiraling down a rabbit hole! It’s like non-motor symptoms are not recognized by some medical personnel, and patients end up, not being treated, or helped, when symptoms, such as horrible REM sleep disorder, causes scary dreams and/or hallucinations! It is truly upsetting to see a medical provider act apathetic, and totally uninterested, in helping a patient, who is being plagued, by non-motor symptoms! There needs to be better advocacy, for Parkinson’s patients!

That’s good information and so necessary. Let us not exhaust the caregivers anymore than they are.
