Is anyone aware of any clinical trials involving manitol?

There was supposed to be a trial. After my husband’s neurologist saw the improvement in him, he did his homework and sent us details of a trial, but that was before COVID-19. They would not have been able to recruit, so I guess it’s in limbo. I hope that’s only temporary.

Yes, doesn’t seem to be anything more reported. So many trials stopped, canceled or delayed.

I love the way mannitol has been betrayed as a “simple sweetener” when it’s been used in hospitals for brain injuries and surgery since at least the late 1970s. Because it’s an osmotic diuretic, it’s also used in the treatment of renal failure.

I’m just glad we have this forum and can have these conversations.
